New formats emerge as technology allows producers to create beyond the traditional ways in which we’re used to experiencing stories. From the ever-expanding AR/VR/XR landscape to Apple Vision Pro apps, to interactive series, our three speakers will guide you through what’s new in viewer experiences. Join #MTHCON24 to keep up to date with what’s happening in the interactive streaming ecosystem, and the technology behind it.
The advent of new media technologies, particularly AI, is making us rethink the way we consume and interact with content. Innovations in VR, XR, and AR have been transforming traditional viewing experiences into immersive adventures, allowing users to step into virtual worlds and interact with their surroundings in unprecedented ways. Cutting-edge apps for devices like the Apple Vision Pro enhance these experiences, blending digital and physical realities. AI-driven interactive stories and dynamically generated content are offering personalized narratives that adapt in real-time to user choices. This convergence is not just enhancing entertainment; it’s reshaping the very fabric of storytelling and user engagement. We’ll explore this topic in detail in the session Unlocked: New Ways of Storytelling and Experiences for Audiences, on September 26 at 12PM at our Expert Stage.

Kemal Görgülü, CTO of ARTE, has a background in media management and directing, which means that he knows both the creative and the business side of the industry. ARTE has been at the cutting edge of innovation for more than 20 years, creating immersive experiences, award-winning video games, digital audio content that would only later be known as podcasts, and genre defining productions like “Polar Sea 360” or “Notes On Blindness”. Following the launch of Apple Vision Pro, ARTE has crafted three apps for the users of the spatial computer: they host high-quality content, from documentaries to award-winning reportage, live performances, and a selection of European cinema and series. Görgülü will showcase two new experiences adapted to apps for Apple Vision Pro: Gloomy Eyes and Battlescar.
- „Gloomy Eyes“ tells the story of the sun who got tired of humans and decided to never rise again. An animated interactive storytelling co-produced by ARTE France, Atlas V, 3DAR, Ryot.
- „Battlescar“ is a journey through New York’s punk underworld. It follows Lupe, a 16-year-old runaway, through the memories she writes in her diary. A co-production by Arte France, Atlas V, RYOT, it uses real-time 3D animation and „6dof“ technology.
We are also joined by Nika Pari Nour, Head of Partnerships at Genvid, a Broadcast Media Production and Distribution company delivering a new form of entertainment combining traditional storytelling with the immersion and interaction of video games. Nika joined Genvid in 2021 to manage relationships with game developers, publishers, platforms, and IP holders, focused on producing and publishing massive interactive live events (MILEs). MILEs allow a global community to influence the storyline of franchises, making choices which will affect the fates of entire worlds. This happens live, enabled by Genvid’s proprietary MILEs SDK technology. Nika spent more than a decade building coalitions and programs for leading internet and video game companies and has a great overview of the ecosystem between games and film.
