📍 Trust & Technology

🗓️ SEP 24 | Horizon Stage | 2:00 – 3:45 PM

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how media is created, distributed, and perceived – but can we ensure these systems are trustworthy? Presented by Cluster ICT, Media and Creative – Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB), the Trust & Technology track at #MTHCON25 explores how tech solutions can serve as enablers of trust. Take a deep dive into the core principles and practical steps to build confidence in AI solutions for media:

🔒 Trustworthy AI: Bye-bye Blackbox

Marie Kilg (Chief AI Officer at Deutsche Welle & AI podcast host) will outline the foundations of trustworthy AI – from explainability and robustness to the pressing issue of digital sovereignty in infrastructure – and highlight its significance for society and business in Europe’s media landscape. Which large language models power the tools we use – and who controls the infrastructure behind them? What are the risks for media when the foundations of AI remain a black box?

💡 TrustTech: The Engine for the Future of Media

Turning innovative solutions from an emerging field into practice requires transferring knowledge from research institutions to startups and ultimately to the market. In this panel, leading researchers, tech founders, and industry experts – including Laura Möller (Director, K.I.E.Z.), Konstanze Neumann (Business Model Strategy Lead, news-polygraph), and Tim Polzehl (Co-Founder & CEO, Gretchen AI) – will explore how explainable AI, secure infrastructure, and transparency tools are being put into use in Berlin-Brandenburg and beyond.
The session will be followed by a Q&A and the opportunity to connect with the speakers.
