Philipp Schild
Philipp Schild, born in 1976, has been shaping the strategic direction of funk as Managing Director of Programming since November 1, 2020. He played a key role in launching the content network in 2016, establishing its current structure and leading the content team as ARD’s programming representative.
A trained video journalist, Schild began his career as a TV author focusing on science, technology, and entertainment. From 2011 to 2016, he headed the cross-media entertainment editorial team at Hessischer Rundfunk and, as project lead of the "Labor Bewegtbild," developed strategies for non-linear content distribution.
Since 2004, he has been sharing his expertise as a lecturer for public broadcasters, publishers, and the ARD.ZDF media academy. His focus areas include social media and leadership in a fragmented, fast-paced media landscape.
Academically, Schild holds a degree in genetics from Goethe University Frankfurt (2002) and completed his video journalism training in 2003.
