Daniele Siragusano
As an expert in digital image processing and colour management, Daniele Siragusano brings a wealth of experience to the field. After earning a Master of Arts in Electronic Media, he spent five years at a Munich-based film processing and post-production facility, where he served as Head of Technology, overseeing digital intermediate colour management and post-production workflows.
Since joining FilmLight in 2014, he has been at the forefront of innovation as a Research Image Engineer. In this role, he is the lead architect for Truelight Colour Spaces, FilmLight’s colour management system, and has developed advanced scene-referred colour grading tools like BaseGrade, XGrade, and Chromogen. He also contributed to the Truelight CAM display rendering transform, widely used in high-end motion picture productions. Since 2017, he has also served as the director of FilmLight's German branch.
Siragusano is also a dedicated educator, giving presentations at major conferences, including SMPTE, SIGGRAPH, and HPA, and guest lecturing at universities worldwide, such as NTNU Norway and Beijing Film Academy. An active member of the Academy Color Encoding Specification (ACES) project, he contributed to the ACES Reference Gamut Compression algorithm and the tonemapping function for the ACES 2.0 output transform.
