With firsthand experience in the art and science of synthetic images, Alex co-founded Magnopus to make the physical-meets-digital world and all its possibilities accessible to more people in more places.

During his thirteen years leading projects and running the company's operations, the teams at Magnopus have delivered cutting-edge technology and experiences across interactive XR, experiential, and virtual production for dozens of partners. Forever dedicated to empowering creativity through technology, Magnopus continues to make the impossible possible for artists, filmmakers, technologists, and their audiences.

Before Magnopus, Alex created and supervised visual effects on feature films, television, commercials, music videos, and theme park rides. In 2012, his work on Martin Scorsese’s Hugo earned him the Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects. He has since been recognized by the Visual Effects Society, International Press Academy, and BAFTA.

A native Californian, Alex was born and raised in Berkeley and holds a degree in Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He’s lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and South America, and his work continues to take him around the globe.
